A high-speed motion searching method for sub-pixel motion estimation at H.264 is provided to decrease the number of search points on pixels, thereby remarkably shortening operation quantities and operation time. The first pixel point(A) is searched. The first pixel point is an integer-unit pixel point in which SAD is the smallest among nine integer-unit pixel points within an integer-unit pixel area. The second pixel point(B) and the third pixel point(C) are searched, respectively. The second pixel point has the second smallest SAD among integer-unit pixel points neighboring on the first pixel point. The third pixel point has the third smallest SAD among the neighboring integer-unit pixel points. The fourth pixel point and the fifth pixel point are individually searched.
