A method for assessing the risk of refusing maternity in the parturient woman comprises the assessment of risk factors postpartum by questionnaire for estimating the psychical type of personality, the psychoneurological disorders. In the first trimester of the gestation, the following factors pertaining tom the risk assessment are elucidated: the place of the residence, the working position, the age, the duration of the marriage, the adverse habits, the number of the pregnancies and the labors in history, the complicated obstetric anamnesis. The state of the somatic health is assessed. With this aim, the clinical, biochemical, immunological, and hormonal examinations are performed. The polymerase chain reaction is used for the analysis of the blood, the urine, and the discharges from the genital organs, The course of the current pregnancy is analyzed using sonographic examination of the uterus, ultrasonic biometry and cardiotocography of the fetus. The functional state of the fetus in the labor is assessed by examining the blood saturation. The congenital defects are searched for. The risk factors are summarized in a table and scored. The sum of the points is analyzed. Finally, the risk of refusing maternity in the parturient woman is assessed.
