Sterilization status indicating device for e.g. surgery tool, has ink supply unit for feeding ink contained in ink reservoir to ink marker, where ink in ink reservoir is exposed to specific temperature for specific time period
The device has an ink supply unit for feeding ink contained in an ink reservoir (4) to an ink marker (1), where the ink in the ink reservoir is exposed to a temperature of about 120 degrees for a time period of about 15 minutes. The color of the ink changes from red to green according to the temperature and the duration of exposure of the ink to the temperature, where the change in color represents the sterilization status of an object e.g. self-adhesive label for being attached to a medical equipment. An independent claim is also included for a method for indicating a sterilization status of an object.
