Described is a metallic energy dissipator manufactured in a modular form for reducing vibrations in structures affected by earthquakes, wind and further sources by means of the hysteretic behaviour of the metal, which comprises at least a module (5) including two loading plates (1) where a variable number of U-shaped metallic dissipators (2) are connected therebetween, said dissipators (2) supporting relative deformations vertically or horizontally performed between the loading plates, these latter elements (1) being connected to a structure (3) located between two points that suffer a relative deformation resulting from a vibration.
