The present invention relates to the field of video data processing. More specifically, the invention describes a method for adaptive switching of constrained intra prediction tool for enhanced coding gain of H.264 encoder. H.264 provides option to transmit encoded data as intra-coded macroblock or inter-coded macroblock. The invention describes a method for dynamic selection between intra-coded macroblock and inter-coded macroblock based on error determination for both the coding methods. The method provides enhanced compression of video data with reduced error in transmission.
