The present invention relates to the use of a bile acid or bile acid / fatty acid salt (BAFAC) conjugate having the general formula II wherein G is a bile acid or bile salt salt optionally conjugated to position 24 with a suitable amino acid, W is one or two fatty acid radicals having from 14 to 22 carbon atoms; and X is a suitable bonding member or a direct C = C bond between said bile acid or bile salt and fatty acid or fatty acids for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of fatty liver syndrome.
