The present invention relates to a treatment process of handling properties of heptahydrated iron sulfate, particularly reduction of hygroscopic properties thereof, wherein the treatment process is characterized in that in a homogeneous mixture containing 25 to 90 percent by weight of heptahydrated iron sulfate and the balance up to 100 percent by weight being calcium sulfate hemihydrate free water from the heptahydrated iron sulfate binds during subsequent deposition thereof within 12 to 84 time delay to crystalline water in the calcium sulfate hemihydrate, whereby a resulting mixture being subsequently ground to a required fineness is formed.
