Process for producing tyres for the wheels of vehicles, in which the raw tyre comprises at least one crosslinkable elastomeric material comprising an elastomeric polymer containing epoxide groups and an active filler containing hydroxyl groups dispersed in the said polymer, the said elastomeric material being crosslinked essentially without additional crosslinking agents. The elastomeric material is characterized by an effective degree of crosslinking equal to at least 65 % after not more than 5 min of heating at 170 DEG C.
