PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainwater draining structure that has a simplified structure, requires no complex operations, and works efficiently even under heavy rains in consideration of latest trends in the technical, development of tailgate lifters, especially provide a tailgate sill member that is designed for use in a van truck having no clearance between the base end of the gate board of its tailgate lifter and a sill member placed at the rear end of its deck so as to produce such functions, while freight with casters is loaded up from the gate board to the deck floor or unloaded out from the deck floor to the gate board, as making no steps so that the casters are rolled smoothly. ;SOLUTION: A sill member 1 that makes up the base of a tailgate on a van vehicle includes a stop part 6 that forms a step against which the rear end of a floor 4 butts, a contiguous part 8 having the same height as the stop part 6, on which the gasket set at the lower edge of the tailgate is pressed, and a drain channel 7 with drain holes 7a in its bottom defined between the stop part 6 and the contiguous part 8. In the drain channel 7, a drainboard 11 is fitted which has drain holes 12 and a top surface made flush with that of the stop part 6 and of the contiguous part 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
