PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having simple construction for accurately taking out only one rod material without requiring much labor, and to provide its method.;SOLUTION: When closable clamping members 231, 232 opposed to each other are in the opened condition, a rod material W at the top position of the plurality of rod materials W, W is clamped by a clamping means 23 in which a tapered space is formed therebetween. The clamping member 23 determines that the number and size of the clamped rod material W are correct or wrong, and it controls the rod material W to be re-clamped when they are wrong.
