PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character/graphic transmission system that can easily detect character/graphic information from a video image through the addition of an output function of generated character/graphic information. SOLUTION: This invention provides the character/graphic system that is provided with a means that outputs a related object from the character/graphic information, a means that converts the character/graphic information into meta data and provides an output, a means that multiplexes the object with meta data and outputs the multiplexed data, a means demultiplexes the multiplexed data into the object and the meta data, and a means that displays the demultiplexed object and selects display of the related meta data. Thus, this invention can provide a data broadcast service that can dynamically be linked to the meta data and provide information by a viewer that uses a remote controller or a mouse or the like and clicks a superimposed video image displayed on a screen so as to instruct/select the image.
