PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for accurately predicting the article residual value of used articles or used cars or the car residual value. PSOLUTION: An article residual value predicting device includes: a computer for article residual value prediction; a first data storing device which stores a plurality of article names, used article prices for each article type, new article prices for each article type, and the years and months when the used article prices are applied as a basic record; and a second data storing device which stores and saves an item category score. The computer for article residual value prediction includes an article residual value calculating means which calculates the article residual value ratio actual values from the ratio of the used article prices against the new article prices, which calculates the item category score by performing regression analysis on the basis of the quantification theory type 1 by using the article residual value ratio actual values as the purpose variables, and by using the article names, the year when the used article prices are applied and the months when the used article prices are applied as the explanatory variables, and which calculates the article residual value by having the article residual value ratio predicting value calculated by the article residual value ratio predicting value calculating means multiplied by the new article prices.
