PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce data recorded in a write-once disk even when a recording error occurs during finalization of the write-once disk and necessary management information can not be recorded as a result.;SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing device is provided with: a recording means for recording, according to a finalizing instruction to a recording medium, management information regarding information data in the predetermined area of the recording medium and the management information in a predetermined second area other than the predetermined area; a detection means for detecting that a newly loaded recording medium has been subjected to finalizing processing; a discrimination means for discriminating whether the management information has been recorded in the predetermined area on the newly loaded recording medium; and a reproducing means for reproducing the management information recorded in the second area of the recording medium when it is discriminated that no management information has been recorded in the predetermined area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
