PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To objectively and efficiently select a production line system without depending on experience and intuition. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step of calculating a plurality of common rates defined from various viewpoints in order to show the commonality of production processes of different kinds based on inputted data (S200 of Fig. 3), a step of calculating the production line system overall evaluation point defined by a linear combination of the plurality of common rates (S300 of Fig. 3), a step of deeding which of a flow shop, a GT shop and a job shop the production line system overall evaluation point is suitable by comparing it with a predetermined selection reference (S400 of Fig. 3), a step of and displaying the selected shop name or the production line system overall evaluation point (S500 of Fig. 3).
