PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of producing a cylinder liner which contains silicon and is lower in the concentration of the silicon of an outer peripheral part than heretofore, and a centrifugal casting apparatus used in the method.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the cylinder liner includes: an introducing step of introducing a metallic material 90 in a molten state containing the silicon into a cylindrical molding mold 20 consisting of an insulator; a cooling step of cooling the metallic material 90 while molding the metallic material to a cylindrical shape by rotating the molding mold 20; and a heating step of heating an outer peripheral part 90a of the metallic material 90 by energizing an induction heating coil 30 turning around the molding mold 20 in the period of a part of the cooling step.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
