Liquid additive injecting process for use in vehicle, involves controlling piston of metering pump, determining temperature of liquid additive, and influencing control of actuator as function of temperature measured
The process involves determining volume of liquid that is additively injected into a fuel tank. An actuator (30) controls a piston (24) of a metering pump (10) to move repeatedly in direction of its deployed position and in the direction of its rest position, until the volume of determined liquid additive has been injected into the tank. Temperature of the liquid additive is determined, and control of the actuator is influenced as a function of the temperature that is measured. A displacement rate of the piston is adjusted as a function of the temperature measured.
