The compartment has a berth (12) partially arranged above an aisle (8) separating two monuments i.e. storage modules (4, 6), where one monument is laid out so that it comprises an access to the berth. The monument has a storage space (15) intended to accommodate carts and has a landing. The landing forms a level intermediate between a floor of a cockpit and a bedding surface of the berth. Staircase (18) is provided for going from floor of a cockpit to the landing. Retractable hand-rails (22) are associated with steps (20) of the staircase.
