The bed (1) has a reversible junction unit (20) between a seat (5) and a legrest (6) of a bedding plane (3). The unit alternatively occupies an association configuration, in which the unit forms a mechanical connection (21) between the seat and the legrest, and a dissociation configuration in which the unit dissociates the connection to authorize relative separation of the seat and the legrest. A lateral releasing unit (22) laterally moves the seat relative to the legrest or vice-versa when the junction unit is in the dissociation configuration, for releasing frontal access to the seat.
