The device has wires (20, 21) connected to curved needle (20`, 21`) at a single end for suture between ligament bundles of a tendinous graft so as to form one or more ligament loops. Suspension strips (22) destined to be a single/double bundle graft are passed in the loops and maintained in position in a femoral bone tunnel and tibial bone tunnel, where the strips have a mechanical traction resistance ranging between 40 and 80 deca-Newton. A pull wire (23) draws the strips across the tunnels, and a fixation screw (24) fixes the strips in the tunnels.
