Burnt gas filtering unit e.g. particle filter, regenerating method for e.g. diesel engine, involves injecting fuel in chamber and blowing fresh air in exhaust pipe, where oxygen in air reacts with hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide of gas
The method involves injecting fuel in a combustion chamber (11) of an internal combustion engine (10) during a triggering cycle. Fresh air is blown in an exhaust pipe (40) upstream of an oxidation catalyst (50), where oxygen contained in the fresh air reacts with hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide of burnt gas in the oxidation catalyst. Flow of the blown fresh air and quantity of the injected fuel are controlled based on a temperature of the burnt gas entering in a particle filter (51).
