The device has a chamber part (3) that is arranged in a front side of a bumper reinforcing part (1) in a driving direction. A pressure sensor measures pressure in a chamber area. A collision of a vehicle is detected with an object based on a pressure change in the chamber area. The part (3) is provided outside an absorber (2). The absorber and the part (3) are arranged such that a part of width or breadth of the absorber in a forward and reverse direction of the vehicle and a part of width or breadth of the part (3) in the direction overlap to each other in a vertical direction of the vehicle.
