The device (10) has a handheld unit (12), which is designed to be held in a hand (14) of a user (16). A Clickwheel (18) is designed to be operated with only one finger (20) of the hand. A touch-sensitive display (22) displays medical images of a patient, where the display receives inputs from a pin. An ultrasonic-imaging transducer (24) is designed to be held by the other hand (26) of the user. A central push button and buttons are provided around an outside edge or in the Clickwheel. An independent claim is also included for a method for receiving from medical images of patients using a handheld-ultrasonic imaging device.
