Print product e.g. print substrate, characteristics detecting method, involves decoding data after opto-electronic detection of design, and using decoded data for characterization of individual printed design and/or printing process
The method involves attaching a static code with redundant information and with high spatial resolution on a pressure product. Opto-electronic detection of a design printed at the product is performed by a line or a surface camera or a laser scanner within a print processing machine such as a rolling or a sheet printing machine or a stroke punching machine or a punching machine with rotative tools or a folder gluer or a gathering machine for print products. Data is decoded and the decoded data are used for characterization of an individual printed design and/or printing process. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for detecting characteristics of print products for authentication and for tracking of individual print products or pressure product use.
