The combination instrument has a display range (1) and another backlit or backlit display range (2). The former display range comprises a layer (1') as main primary extension layer and the later display range is arranged partly in a parallel displayed another layer (2'). A protection element is provided to the foil (21) at the diaphragm edge or at the edge of the foils. The protection element is running between the former layer and the later layer.
