The track brake element has two clamping plates (4) coupled together, which has a rail head (2) of a guide rail (3) with a break element (8), where brake element is arranged with two clamping plates at the rail head. A tensioning arrangement (14) has a spring element (16), which preloads the clamping plates in such a manner that the brake elements is preloaded towards the rail head and is pivoted around the axle (A1).
