Road environment e.g. number of lanes, recognition device for e.g. road molder, has electronic control unit recognizing road environment of vehicle based on stored coordinate positions and attribute of object
The device has radar units (10, 20) delivering a number of rays in a preset angle area in a width direction and a height direction of a vehicle e.g. road molder. A time meter circuit (50) and an electronic control unit (60) recognize a position of an object relative to the vehicle and an attribute of object based on results of delivered number of rays. The control unit repeatedly evaluates a coordinate position of the vehicle in an absolute coordinate. The control unit recognizes road environment e.g. number of lanes, of the vehicle based on stored coordinate positions and the attribute. An independent claim is also included for a method for recognizing road environment of a vehicle.
