Method for controlling a water-guiding device comprises receiving measured values from the water-guiding device and closing the feed of water to the device when the measured values show there is an error in the device. An independent claim is also included for a control device for a water-guiding device. Preferred Features: The method further comprises supplying a water-guiding device with a current and switching off the current supply when the measured values show there is an error in the device. The control device has units (50) for supplying water, units (70, 72) for receiving the measured values from the water-guiding device and units (60) for closing the water feed to the device.
