The method involves producing an optical pulse for each local position, and dividing pulse into an optical simulation pulse and an associate optical sample pulse. A terahertz pulse is produced using the simulation pulse. The terahertz pulse is measured using the sample pulse. The terahertz pulse is measured with the sample pulse at two local positions under a phase position between the terahertz pulse and the optical sample pulse, where the phase position is relatively constant to a phase difference that is caused by different optical path through the sample at the local positions. An independent claim is also included for a device for imaging using an electromagnetic radiation in terahertz region.
