摘要

The method involves determining an electrical resistance process of a glow plug (5) extending in a combustion chamber. The electrical resistance process is evaluated for determination of a combustion parameter e.g. ignition point, which signifies cyclic fuel combustion taking place in the combustion chamber of a diesel engine. An actuator (2) is actuated depending on the determined parameter. A constant test current is fed into the glow plug for the measurement of an electrical resistance, where the glow plug is used as a temperature sensor. An independent claim is also included for an engine control system.
