The column (2) has a riser (1) with a vertically oriented part, and a horizontal part with an input for inputting two-phase flow into the column. The horizontal part has a recess lying inside the column for slowing down the flow by a smoothing section (3). The smoothing section has a partial open structure and is form of a gutter. An end of the smoothing section facing the vertically oriented part has two opposite openings (4, 5) for distributing the two-phase flow.
