The drill has a blade part (2) provided with a cutting groove section (4), which is provided with screw-shaped rotating cutting grooves that are separated from each other by corresponding screw-shaped rotating bars. The bars of the cutting groove section exhibits a supporting rib along circumferential surfaces at an axial position, where the rib runs in a circumferential direction. A radial outer surface of the supporting rib defines a radius, which is larger than a radius of the cutting groove section, where the radius of the outer surface is axially adjacent to the supporting rib. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a deep hole drill.
