The method involves having a color whose operating condition has several influencing adjustable parameters. A press is provided having a pressure (10). Several parameters are slowly changed (12) during the operation of the press, so that the development of micro-structures of the ink in the ink work is prevented, without changing the color of the image of the print product of a tolerance limit provision. A detection (14) is made of the operation. An independent claim is included for a printing machine.
