The method involves performing output reduction on the light radiation from the laser diode or LED, forming the light radiation with reduced output in pulses, and adjusting the middle output portion according to the pulse form of the light radiation. The pulse form includes pulse height and pulse length of the light radiation. The middle radiating power or energy is measured to be used as correction variable for the pulse form. The pulse frequency of the pulse form is adjustable. The correction variable includes frequency, pulse length, or pulse height.
