Lipid membrane producing method for e.g. biosensor technology, involves forming lipid layer on surface of operating tool by using characteristics of surface, and transferring layer to homogeneous or micro-structured surface of substrate
The method involves using an operating tool (1) e.g. die, with a surface that is suitable for self-organization of lipid molecules (5). The lipid molecules are received from electro-physiological buffer solution under immersion of the surface of the operating tool. A lipid layer is formed on the surface of the operating tool by using the characteristics of the surface. The lipid layer is transferred to a homogeneous or micro-structured surface of a substrate and separated as lipid membrane by using the operating tool. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a substrate comprising a homogeneous or micro-structured lipid layer (2) an arrangement for producing a lipid membrane on a substrate.
