Belt (1) comprises a strap and a buckle (3) having a buckle fastener (6) with a rear holding part (10) facing the user and a front outer actuation part (11) facing way from the user for securing a holding element (12) fixed to the end of one section (5) of the strap in the closed position in the buckle fastener. Another section (4) of the strap is pulled through and out of the holding part so that the free end (13) of this section can be pulled tight. Preferred Features: The visible outer surface (7) of the buckle is preferably blank and flat for displaying information.
