The furniture e.g. bed (1) has a lying surface (2) held by a supporting frame (4) that includes two carriers (6) arranged at a distance from each other. The carriers are curved or bent convexly, and are designed in a disk or circular-shape, and project at two sides over the lying surface with a convexly bent or curved partial area. A frame (3) limiting the lying surface and held by the frame (4) includes a retainer (13) to accommodate a supporting device (12) of the surface (2). The carriers and/or the supporting frame and/or the frame (3) are made of wood, plastic, cast stone, or metal.
