The procedure for power generation by wood pyrolysis, comprises supplying wood and sand in a wood pyrolysis device (10), extracting crude pyrolysis gas produced by the pyrolysis, and swirling the crude gas with the sand by subjecting the crude gas to cracking process to form crude pyrolysis gas-sand-mixture, which is supplied to a separator. The separated hot sand is supplied into the upper area of the pyrolysis device and the treated pyrolysis gas is supplied below the pyrolysis device. The procedure for power generation by wood pyrolysis, comprises supplying wood and sand in a wood pyrolysis device (10), extracting crude pyrolysis gas produced by the pyrolysis, and swirling the crude gas with the sand by subjecting the crude gas to cracking process to form crude pyrolysis gas-sand-mixture, which is supplied to a separator. The separated hot sand is supplied into the upper area of the pyrolysis device and the treated pyrolysis gas is supplied below the pyrolysis device. The used hot calciferous sand is extracted and supplied in a wood-burning device (20) for swirling with the crude pyrolysis gas. The sand-coal-mixture (14) produced in the pyrolysis device is supplied to a wood-burning device. An independent claim is included for a wood pyrolysis device.
