Motor vehicle e.g. truck, weight determining method, involves controlling injection in temporal sequence, so that vehicle weight is determined from overall moment of inertia of motor vehicle through engine moment and speed change
The method involves detecting a thrust phase of an internal combustion engine, and determining speed of the engine depending on time. Injection of fuel mass is controlled in such a manner that generated engine moment is determined based on the fuel mass and a temporal sequence of injection. Another injection in another temporal sequence is controlled, so that a vehicle weight is determined from an overall moment of inertia of a motor vehicle through the engine moment and speed change that is produced by the latter injection.
