The irradiation device (1) has a couch part (4) for a person, who is to be irradiated, to rest-upon. The couch part has a radiation source (2) for sending a radiation and a recess (10) for partial admission of the person. The recess of the couch part is filled with a liquid. A device (32,34,36) is provided for inserting gas and/or liquid into the liquid, present in the recess, for obtaining a whirlpool-effect.
