Implantable blood oxygen sensor for e.g. human blood vessel, has flexible unit applied in sections directly to external wall of vessel, where flexible unit is deformed corresponding to blood pressure-conditional change of diameter of vessel
The sensor has a flexible unit (3), which is applied in sections directly to an external wall of a human or animal blood vessel (1). The flexible unit has a flexible ductility such that the flexible unit is deformed corresponding to a blood pressure-conditional change of diameter of the blood vessel. A sensor is provided in the flexible unit to detect the oxygen saturation of the blood in the blood vessel (1). The sensor has two LEDs (11, 12) and a light detector (13).
