The method involves a classifier (2) separating a material mixture into coarse and fine goods material flow. The coarse material is removed on the rotary elements and the fine material falls through a screen gap between the rotary elements. The circumferential speed of the rotary elements increases in transportation direction of the coarse goods material flow. An independent claim is also included for a device for classifying material flow.
