A wastewater treatment apparatus is provided to decompose effectively recalcitrant aromatic carboxylic acid contained in wastewater, reduce chemical oxygen demand and biological oxygen demand, and effectively remove aromatic carboxylic acid by combining an ozone oxidation process with a photo-Fenton oxidation process. An apparatus for treating wastewater containing aromatic carboxylic acid comprises: an ozone reactor(1) into which wastewater containing aromatic carboxylic acid flows, which has an ozone inlet and an ozone outlet connected to an exhaust ozone treatment equipment(17), and in which wastewater is stored and ozone is oxidized; an ozone and hydrogen peroxide reactor(4) in which oxidation is performed by ozone and hydrogen peroxide, the ozone and hydrogen peroxide reactor including a supply pump(3) for supplying treated water that has been treated in the ozone reactor, a circulation line for circulating a portion of treated water flown in through the supply pump by a circulation pump(6), and an ozone injection part and a hydrogen peroxide injection part formed on the circulation line, the ozone injection part being connected to an ozone generator(5); a UV tubular reactor(15) for performing photo-Fenton oxidation of treated water which has been flown in through the inflow part, and into which an iron catalyst and hydrogen peroxide are injected, the UV tubular reactor including a supply pump(9) for supplying treated water that has been treated in the ozone and hydrogen peroxide reactor, an inflow part into which treated water flows through the supply pump, and an iron catalyst injection part and a hydrogen peroxide injection part formed on the inflow part; and a catchment tank(16) into which treated water that has been treated in the UV tubular reactor is flown to store the treated water.
