A system for learning a 3D(Dimensional) model by using the internet and a method for learning the 3D model in a user computer are provided to enable a user to learn the 3D model by enabling the user to edit color/image of the 3D model, output a development figure of the edited 3D model, and assemble the development figure. A file server(210) stores 3D models(1) like a plurality of spatial figures and models, and development figure files of the 3D model. A web server(230) provides a webpage(202) for connecting a user computer(100) to the file server and an ActiveX page(204) for providing a 3D model learning program(300). The user computer installs the 3D model learning program having an ActiveX control function when the webpage of the web server is connected, and enables a user to edit color/image of the 3D model by downloading/displaying the 3D model and a development figure(2) when the user selects the 3D model in the webpage of the server. The 3D model learning program comprises an ActiveX controlling module for downloading the 3D model from the web server and a 3D engine module for displaying the 3D model on a web browser(110). A 3D model database(212) stores 3D information as to a plurality of models such as humans, animals, automobiles and so on.
