An MCM3(minichromosome maintenance protein 3) is provided to diagnose papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) effectively and accurately at the early stage. A method for diagnosing PTC comprises the steps of: (a) providing a tissue sample obtained from an individual; (b) contacting the sample with a diagnosis reagent forming a specific bond to an MCM3; and (c) identifying formation of a complex between the MCM3 and the diagnosis reagent to diagnose the PTC. A kit for diagnosing the PTC comprises the diagnosis reagent forming the specific bond to the MCM3 and a detection marker. A marker for diagnosing the PTC consists of the MCM3. Further, the kit for diagnosing the PTC additionally comprises a second antibody such as immunoglobulin G.
