An extract of Oviductus Ranae and a composition comprising the same are provided to show excellent melanogenesis inhibitory effect without cytotoxicity, thereby replacing a conventional whitening composition with cytotoxicity. An extract of Oviductus Ranae inhibits melanogenesis and is prepared by extracting dried oviduct of forest frog with water, C1-3 alcohol or a mixture thereof. A composition for inhibiting the melanogenesis or skin whitening comprises the extract of Oviductus Ranae as an effective ingredient.
