A ship propulsion pod set and a device for installing or removing a propulsion pod set are provided to improve repairing efficiency by installing or removing a propulsion pod set while a ship is floating. A ship propulsion pod set comprises a pod(10) equipped with a length direction axis(X-X') and a motor operating a propeller screw installed in a front end portion of a pod or a rear end portion, and a support pad(12) mechanically connecting the pod with a pivot unit pivot-operating the pod about a vertical axis(Y-Y') perpendicular to the length direction axis of the pod. At least the pivot unit is laid inside a container(2) equipped with two length direction surfaces(22,23) parallel with the length direction axis. In addition, the pivot unit is equipped with a slide element(30), which the length direction surfaces form support surfaces supporting corresponding surfaces fixed to a ship body of the ship.
