The casing has a pre-fabricated unit with a bearing frame, a ladder (9), and two guiding rails (2a, 2b) for guiding a cabin (1) of the casing. A third guiding rail (31) is provided for guiding a counter weight (3). Two maintenance and/or fixing units (6) are provided for fixing the pre-fabricated unit on the casing. A groove (8) receives a supply cable of the cabin, and the pre-fabricated unit can be mounted in the casing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an assembly destined to equip a casing of a lift (b) a method for mounting an assembly destined to equip a casing of a lift.
