A reactor for treating liquid substrates, with a sterilized container (3) to receive substrate and measuring chamber(s) (26) (sealed from the receiving chamber (25)) containing sensor(s) (17) to obtain process control data, has (a) sensor calibration fluid inlet and outlet connections (27, 28), sealed from the receiving and measuring chambers and (b) a passage (29), closed via a predetermined breakage site (30), in the measuring chamber.
