PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network device having the function of supporting the replacement of a fault component by displaying substitutable component information of other device in a network when the fault component is detected. SOLUTION: An MFP 1a detects the fault component when the fault occurs, and inquires the presence or absence of the substituting component to other device in the network. When the MFP 1a receives the effect that there is the substituting component from other device in the network, the MFP 1a selects and displays the optimum substituting component based on information regarding the replacing difficulty degree and the operability of the fault component and the substituting component as well as information regarding the using frequency of the device of the MFP 1a and the substituting component.
