PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic answering telephone call recording method, telephone set with an automatic answering telephone function and control program for shortly recording a message of an incoming call from a first-time caller, and setting whether to record message of a next incoming call.;SOLUTION: An incoming call from a telephone number registered in a telephone directory or the like can be recorded as a predetermined long message (e.g., up to 3 min) (s305), a call from an unfamiliar telephone can be recorded as a short message (e.g., up to 15 sec) (s307), and the automatic answering telephone function is not started when called from a telephone number with additional information inhibiting the message recording in the telephone directory to continue ringing (s308). A user of the telephone reproduces and listens to the recorded short message, and when the first-time caller annoys the user, the telephone number of the caller is registered with the additional information in the telephone directory, to prohibit recording the subsequent message from the same telephone number (caller).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
